Pte. H.E. Moody

FIRST NAMES: Harold Edward

UNIT: 16th Royal Scots

NUMBER: 202742

STATUS: Died

DATE OF DEATH: 3rd July 1918

CEMETERY OR MEMORIAL: Leuze Communal Cemetery, France

AGE: Unknown

Harold was the son of Margaret Hannah and Alfred Herbert Moody and his father was a joiner. He was baptised in Northallerton on 16th March 1899.

He had originally enlisted in the Yorkshire Regiment (No. 2706) before being transferred to the Royal Scots.

Harold is buried in Leuze Communal Cemetery, which was used by the Germans to bury British Prisoners of War who died in captivity between April and November 1918. It seems certain therefore that Private Moody was captured by the Germans and died as a prisoner of war.
