THE POZIERES MEMORIAL

The Pozieres Memorial records the names of 14,690 men who fell in the Somme battles of 1918 and who have no known grave. It's panels surround the graves of 2,756 soldiers buried in the Pozieres British Cemetery. It is situated by the side of the main Albert to Bapaume road, an arrow straight road of Roman origin which runs right through the centre of the Somme Battlefield.
