Frederick Hutchinson was born in Northallerton in 1920 and was the son of George and Mary Hutchinson. Frederick attended the Grammar School, leaving in 1936.
He volunteered for the army in 1939 and joined the 6th Battalion Green Howards. He went the North Africa and fought through El Alamein with the Eighth Army. During the invasion of Sicily, Frederick received severe wounds and died on the 12 July 1943.
Frederick Hutchinson lies buried in Syracuse War Cemetery, Sicily. Plot 2 Row E Grave 1. He is also remembered on the Grammar School Memorial Plaque.
Frederick was aged 23 years.
